This might work for most areas in America, but where I live , if you contest your property tax, you had better brace yourself for things like forgetting to pick up your garbage, intermitten power fialures, water shortages, and so forth.

Good Point Erry – and I have seen this happen. However, we need to stand up for what’s right even if it means a possible squabbling match with the local tax authority.

San Diego real estate was automatically reassessed last year, without the usual need for the home owners to file an application. Apparently the tax collector made the decision after being overwhelmed by requests. But either way I think it was a great result for San Diego home owners. Usually it is a headache to deal with getting a property tax reassessment. Thanks for your post!
