Great article Kevin. We work very closely with our appraisers (not too closely) and we’ve built a pretty good relationship over the years. We know what to expect from one another. It wasn’t always that way though.

Sounds like there have been a few changes in Florida’s appraisal system. With the housing industry going through some uncertain times there are bound to be changes that will help get houses selling again. Thanks for sharing the information. Great advice, Kevin! My father’s a home appraiser in south Florida and I always hear his complaints about real estate agents or mortgage brokers not fully cooperating. If they would just provide as much of this info as possible up front, like you suggest, he would probably be a little less stressed. Not to mention, they’d be able to close their sales quicker. To me it just seems like some common professional courtesy.
