Lakeland’s Mid-Florida Federal Credit Union Enters the Real Estate Business

The Polk County, Florida home loans and real estate landscape is changing in a new and interesting way.   Today, the Lakeland Ledger reported that a long-time Polk County, Florida real estate company – A.H. Realty – has been purchased by MidFlorida Federal Credit Union.

The deal was completed on Wednesday.   A.H. Realty will be renamed MidFlorida Real Estate Sales, LLC and will be a become a wholly owned subsidiary of MidFlorida Federal Credit Union.

For the meantime, MidFlorida Real Estate Sales will remain at the existing A.H. Realty site at 2510 South Florida Ave. in Lakeland and at 5628 Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven. However, in 2009 these two offices will merge and will take up residence in what is now the AutoZone business near the MidFlorida branch at 3008 South Florida Ave.

Two additional offices will open in existing MidFlorida branches at Duff Road and U.S. 98 North in Lakeland and at 5805 U.S. 27 in Sebring. A site in East Polk County has yet to be determined.

    Hey Kevin,
I have never seen that Odiogo app. before. What do you think about banks being agents also? Most people I talk to that have heard this was being planned, say that the banks can’t handle their own side of the business as it is, and seems like a conflict of interest. Not sure about this.
The link for Twitter that says follow me is not linked right. But, the one for your Twitter page is okay. I am following you now. kathcouch on Twitter.

Hey Kathleen! Did you click on the Odiogo link? It’s pretty nifty! Some folks think it’s gimmicky… but I like it.

Yeah – not real sure the Banking industry can afford to spread itself to “transparency” by moving into the Real Estate space. This is going to be interesting. A.H. Real Estate has been around for a long time. I was a little surprised by this move.

Thanks for the heads up on the Twitter Follow link. I removed it, as the Twitter app from Widget Box below it can take folks to my Twitter page. :)

So happy to have you on as a follower! I just followed you as well. Have your blog on my Google Reader Radar, so will stay tuned! Please do the same! :)
